Seek Legal Representation From DUI Lawyers

As a commercial driver in Ohio, you depend on your commercial driver’s license (CDL) to perform consistent work and make a living. But if you are arrested for a DUI, not only are you liable to serve time in jail or pay an expensive fine, you may also lose your job. Due to the severity of the punishments involved, it is imperative to obtain the legal services of an experienced and skilled DUI lawyer.

At Meadows Law Firm, our legal team has successfully handled countless DUI/OVI cases for our clients. With more than 45 years of collective experience, our Butler County and Southwest Ohio DUI lawyers possess the extensive knowledge of Ohio laws and court proceedings in order to reduce the charges or have your case dismissed entirely.

DUI Penalties For CDL Holders

Even if you are driving a noncommercial vehicle, if your blood alcohol content (BAC) is over the legal limit (.04% for CDL holders, compared to .08% for regular motorists), your CDL will automatically be suspended for 90 days. However, if convicted of DUI/OVI, it can result in a one-year CDL disqualification. A second DUI/OVI while driving a noncommercial vehicle, it could mean a lifetime CDL disqualification.

Additional charges may be filed if the DUI occurred in a commercial vehicle and the chemical test was over the limit or there was a chemical test refusal. First time DUI offenders can be punished with a maximum six-month jail sentence and a fine of up to $1,000.
